Jack Jack

June 27, 2008 · 8 Comments

I caught Jack today indulging in his favorite past time-destroying my purse.

I don’t know how he managed to get the wrapper off, but he found himself a Dum Dum sucker in there, and boy did he like it!

he has also discovered the mic to Rock Band…and presses his face into it and screams!

On a final note-it’s time to start buckling him into his highchair,as he has learned how to flip himself out of it…little stinker!

Hello Kitty Dolls

June 24, 2008 · 2 Comments

Cassi's 10th Birthday is just around the corner, and
since she is currently obsessed with Hello Kitty,
I went on-line to try and find some fun hello Kitty
crafts to do at her b-day party in 2 weeks, and came
across a pattern for Hello Kitty dolls. So I made
each of the girls one,to see if it would be too hard
for a bunch of 10 year olds to do in a hour.
(It took me about an hour for each doll...so I
don't think it will work for he party) But I still
thought they turned out pretty cute-

The girls are LOVING them, and have dressed
them in dolly clothes, and even pierced their
ears!

While the dolls won't work for the party,
Kristy and Maddie have come up with some
good ideas of things to entertain 10
10 years olds for 2 hours.
Anyone have any other ideas?

Go Jaren!

June 23, 2008 · 6 Comments

Jaren has been working all year towards earning a Nintendo DS- since Christmas actually. He gets a point a day for having a positive attitude, and had to earn 150 points.

Well, today he finally got his DS!

I really am so proud of him-thats a long time to wait! But since it was so expensive (Even on sale at Target-OUCH!) I think it worked out great for both of us,and hopefully taught him a good lesson too…and improved his attitude! He is so excited, and we have started a new list to work towards new games. Cassi is pretty jealous, but she had the choice to keep her room clean and earn points, and just refused to do it! I think, now that Jaren has his, I’m going to see Cassi’s room a lot cleaner so she can earn her points!

On that note, let me just say, I haven’t seen nor heard from Jaren since he got it-he has disappeared into DS Land. I think I’m going to have to install a time restraint!

Rock Band Family

June 22, 2008 · 2 Comments

So, Jay went and bought “Rock Band” for our PS2-and it has become the new family obsession. Jay and Jaren switch back and forth on drums, Cassi and Jay on guitar, and me or Cassi singing. I admit, its fun. REALLY fun. And for some reason, while I sucked at “Guitar Hero”, I’m pretty decent on the guitar for Rock Band. It is a great together family time activity, if you ignore Jays swearing when he misses a note. Mary is the dancer throughout all the songs, and thankfully, Jack was in bed. But it was fun!

I know the picture isn’t the best-but it seems my Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers Digital HP camera is about to bite the dust. I guess 4 years of constant use has made it a bit wonky. I got some great pictures last night, but today they aren’t coming up. :(

And yes, Cassi is home, loaded with Hello Kitty toys and shirts and seashells from the beach and candy and many other present from her trip. I’m just so glad that she is home!

Cassi, come home!

June 19, 2008 · 3 Comments

Alright, I’ve had enough. I want my daughter back.

You see, Cassi went to California with her Grandpa and Grandma Forsyth and cousin Lily last Friday. It’s been 6 days, and I can’t take it anymore. I miss her! I know she is having a blast, she got to have a sleepover last night with her Grandma Keefe and Grandpa Mike, has been spoiled shamelessly, been to the Hello Kitty store many, many times….but I’m lonely for her! It really makes such a difference with even one kid gone,it’s so quiet! And she’s such a good girl,a good sister and daughter and helper with the baby. I’m ready for her to be hhhoooooommmmmmeeee!

I guess I can handle 2 more days. Sigh.

Hehm.

I just had to admit my dorkyness -yes, I did it. I made the iron on T-shirt transfers that came with my copy of Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. I’m just kinda obsessed,in a Harry Potter kinda way. Please still think I’m cool.

PS. It depends on my mood who’s team I’m actually on.

Date Night

June 16, 2008 · 2 Comments

If you can believe it, Jay and I had a date night Friday night. Its been ages since we went on a real date, months at least. We double dated and went out with Stacey and Alecia to go seeĀ  Zohan and then out to dinner. The movie was pretty funny, it was no Billy Madison, and I tried not to be insulted at all the Arabic references. Though why I should be insulted at all the hummus uses, when Jay could have cared less, and laughed hysterically through the whole thing. After the movie we went and ate at Texas Roadhouse, which was nom, nom, nom! It was a great night, the kids had fun with their cousin Katie and Aunt Kim watching them, and I was happy forĀ  a reason to get dressed up! Fun!

The Happy List

June 13, 2008 · 3 Comments

I just had to share how much I love my kitschy cookie jars. They make me happy. It started years ago…I bought the “cookie time” jar out of a Spiegel catalog about 9 years ago…and I keep finding them at garage sales and given them as gifts. But I like it! Like I said, it makes me happy. Its on my happy list (and yes,I do have a list of things that make me happy…like cookie jars, almond cookies, Yankee candles, Madeleine and Suzanne coming to visit, fresh flowers in th house, letters from Sarah D….the list goes on and on…) JOY!
