Too Funny

I bought “Belly Laughs” by Jenny McCarthy for my friend Cassie at DI the other day, and decided to give it a quick read. For any woman who has ever been, or plans to be pregnant, it’s pretty hilarious! I mean whats funnier than pooping on the delivery table, hemorrhoids, stretch marks and a swollen whoo-hoo? Seriously, I giggled through the whole thing!

This week

This week went by pretty fast, and we got absolutely nothing done. Hooray! (other than the usuals of laundry and dishes and mopping…that happens everyday regardless)

Anyway,the week started out with MaryJane barfing all over herself and having a fever for 2 days straight. Fun!

We hung out with Grandma while the big kids were in school, and went to DI on the quest for Pyrex.

Were happy when Daddy got home from work…

And today we went to Hidden Valley Park and almost got blown away….so windy and hot in the sun. I want it to be Spring still! None or this early summer stuff!

So, nothing too exciting…how was your week?

New Calling

I was recently called as the Laurel Adviser at  church, (in charge of the 16/17 year old girls) and today I taught my first lesson. I’ve had it prepared for weeks, but that didn’t stop me from being oh, so nervous! This is my first REAL calling…My Mom says I must be growing up! I got through my lesson, without vomiting or messing up, and ended with about 5 minutes to spare, as opposed to 30 like I was afraid of. So all in all it well….now I have to do it all over again in about 3 weeks…hopefully I won’t be so nervous next time! I think I’m really going to like this calling…the girls have all been so sweet, the other leaders are awesome, and I pretty sure its going to be great! Next stop:Youth Conference! Wish me luck!

Happy Easter!

Today the Easter Bunny came to our house and hid baskets of goodies….

And hid eggs for the kids to find…

Then we went to church…and Jack was naughty in Sacrament Meeting like always, and refused to pose for a picture…

Then we came home to Turkey dinner with my parents!

YUM!

“Tie” dying

My sister Becky sent me the coolest idea for Easter egg dying-using silk neck ties! Here’s what you do:

1. cut up 100% silk neck ties,wrap around eggs and secure with twisty ties

2.then wrap with plain white fabric (I used an old pillowcase)

3.place in pan, cover with water, add 1/4 cup vinegar, boil 20 minutes

4. cool on towel, unwrap, and voila! Tie dyed eggs!

I wish I had brighter colored ties-reds and yellows. So fun and easy and none of the mess! Happy egg dying everyone!

Spring Has Sprung

How do I know that Spring is here? Is if the flowers blooming? The lovely breeze dancing through my door? Oh no. The reason I know, is because around this time of year I start finding birds, DEAD birds, all over my house. And today I discovered who the culprit is….

At one end of the garage is Peep eating his lunch…behind him lay a trail of devastation, feathers EVERYWHERE. But no dead bird.

It will probably turn up in my shoe.
